Veteran right-hander Brandon Duckworth, it seems, is too valuable of an insurance policy for the Royals to let get away. The club signed Duckworth, 32, to a one-year contract Monday after he cleared waivers, which allowed him to be sent to Class AAA Omaha on an outright assignment.
