Outrage over the possibility that Rush Limbaugh might own part of an NFL team has caused one bidding coalition to kick him to the curb to avoid controversy.

Limbaugh dropped from group seeking to buy Rams

By R.B. FALLSTROM
ST. LOUIS (AP) - Conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh has been dropped from a group seeking to buy the St. Louis Rams. Limbaugh was to be a limited partner in a bid led by St. Louis Blues chairman Dave Checketts, but Checketts said in a statement Wednesday that Limbaugh's participation had complicated the effort. The group will move forward without him.
Checketts said he will have no further comment on the bid process. Limbaugh did not immediately respond to an e-mail sent late Wednesday seeking comment on Checketts' decision.
Limbaugh said on his radio show earlier Wednesday that he had been inundated with e-mails from listeners who supported him in the bid.

Yet there is nothing but excitement when billionaire Stephen Ross brings in entertainers and athletes as minority partners into the ownership of the Miami Dolphins. Fergie (http://fergie.blackeyedpeas.com/) is the latest to be linked to the team. This group of people have said, sang, and did things that are objectionable to a large number of Americans.

Ross, a New York real estate billionaire, has brought six celebrities into the fold since completing his purchase of the Dolphins from Wayne Huizenga in January. The first partnership was with singer Jimmy Buffett; musicians Gloria and Emilio Estefan and Marc Anthony subsequently bought small shares of the team.
The Estefans are the first Cuban-Americans to hold an ownership stake in an NFL team, while Anthony is a New York native of Puerto Rican descent.
"We are thrilled to have Venus and Serena join the Dolphins as limited partners," Ross said. "They are among the most admired athletes in the world and have become global ambassadors for the game of tennis. Their addition to our ownership group further reflects our commitment to connect with aggressively and embrace the great diversity that makes South Florida a multicultural gem."

Diversity and multiculturalism obviously doesn’t apply to a conservative entertainer/voice. The Prez had an introduction on Monday night football to placate Hispanic folks on behalf of the NFL.

Welcome to the new world order...

What hyocrites! If they want to be politically correct they better look down on the field to remind them of who makes the money for them. I sound anti-football, football players -- not in the very least, but geez.

I am disappointed...mainly because I wanted to see the lying black hypocrites show up on the field after they said they would not play for Limbaugh.

Never mind the fact that there's no proof that he said that stuff in the first place, that it was traced back to an unsubstantiated wikipedia entry.

There was a great back and forth between Sharpton and Pat Buchanan on Chris Matthew's show today.
Pat really put it to Sharpton and I tried to link the you tube video clip of it but it didn't work. It's worth a listen if you can.
I don't know who is more of a jack---, Matthews or Sharpton. :p

All I know is the NFL is now on my list of not giving my money to. They join the likes of Michael Moore and Spike Lee and the DNC...

I'm not big into the NFL because of how they operate. Fleecing urban counties with exorbitant taxes to build stadiums so that super-rich people can get even more rich without having to finance the overhead is not cool in my book. This is one reason why I thought it was strange Rush was trying to get into it at all. The other reason is that he would have been a limited partner in a group. Rush seems like a guy who needs to be in control of his money and investments. Being a partner seems like he was just trying to buy a status symbol.... or stick it in the eye of someone.

Being a partner seems like he was just trying to buy a status symbol.... or stick it in the eye of someone.

Rush does claim he was approached & was not seeking any invovement, but I can't help but wonder if his decision to do it was what he may have considered a signal to ESPN for firing him from Mon. Night F.B.
Kind of like, in spite of you (ESPN), I'll make it on my own and it will be even better than what you gave me. Not to mention, it being a more powerful & lucrative postion than he had there.
I have no doubt, however, that politics at the highest level was involved in the decision to dump him. Payback time?
