Just one more reason I left the Catholic church. Not the abuse specifically, since most of it was unknown to me, but because I came to realize that while I was brought up to put ultimate faith in the heirarchy, they don't stand up to scrutiny. In fact, the whole idea of a heirarchy that large and powerful is misguided as far as what God intended for his people, to say nothing of the politicization of it all.

To me the knowledge of right and wrong is instinctual.
Instinct is God given, you either go with it or not. Also called a conscience.
The free will thing is given to us. There is a tally board of decisions.

There is only One Mediator between man and God, Jesus Christ. The hierarchy in the Roman Catholic Church cannot be supported with any scripture. When hierarchies like this are empowered, whether they be religious or secular, only bad things come from them.

What they have done, what has been covered up, hidden and denied is wrong in the eyes of God and man. How is it they feel entitled to go on in their positions away from everyone in their Vatican City and elsewhere they know good and well their God would disapprove of? They disgust me.
