I pray for this President. I wish him well and to be a spirit that pushes the USA forward.

A look at the past---at other, but similar, problems. ;)
A retrospective not in order for my reasons.
Take the time to L00K at history. This may take some time, but worth it.
Tells you about the future. Read Washington's at the last.

God Bless and keep us all!

Nobody who talks as slow as LBJ would stand a chance today.

Richard Nixon, 1969:

The simple things are the ones most needed today if we are to surmount what divides us, and cement what unites us.

To lower our voices would be a simple thing.

In these difficult years, America has suffered from a fever of words; from inflated rhetoric that promises more than it can deliver; from angry rhetoric that fans discontents into hatreds; from bombastic rhetoric that postures instead of persuading.

We cannot learn from one another until we stop shouting at one another--until we speak quietly enough so that our words can be heard as well as our voices.

Those words are very applicable to today.

How true. As well as this.

If only he'd used his power for good....

If he'd been a Democrat in 2008, he would still be in office.

How do you figure that?!?

How do you figure that?!?

We just elected a guy who doesn't seem to know anyone who isn't being investigated for something, Hillary Clinton just got approved for SOS even though her husband get bazillions of dollars from foreign governments, the next AG help get pardons for baby killing terrorists and Marc Rich, and the guy who is about to run the IRS is a known tax evader. Breaking into a party headquarters doesn't seem to be all that bad, now, does it?

No, and in fact my kids and I were just talking about that in our discussion of the inauguration speech. I had a hard time explaining how what he did was so wrong. But the bottom line is that he broke the law and failed to see how the President should be held to the same standard as everyone else. Breaking into party headquarters could've been the least of what he did wrong had he been left in office because had he gotten away with it, and thinking he's above the law, God only knows what further damage he could've done.

I recently saw the "Frost Nixon" movie which turned out to be historically accuate, as nearly as I can determine/remember (I have read a lot about the man over the years) and the movie reminded me what he did wrong. A lot. People's lives were ruined by his shenanigans (Dirty Tricks Department, etc.) and the office of president became a joke (almost as big a joke as Slick Willie Clinton made it later). I think Nixon was a brilliant man with no common sense nor scruples.

Remember, this started when I said:

If he'd been a Democrat in 2008, he would still be in office.

Now, imagine how the Obama administration is going to comport itself knowing that they can do NO wrong.

AHHHH, I get it now. I totally missed your point before, but the pistons are firing now.
