While I think this case is a situation that brought a pair of idiots together, the pusher should be charged with attempted murder.

Now, that's what I call taking "road rage" to the extreme.
Thoughtful of the pusher to shake his hand before pushing him - don't you think? :p
Maybe the bed in the hospital is still free so the pusher could take the jumper's place. :D
Maybe they could both go and be roommates.

I do not have much empathy for these folks, I have it for their families, but not those that threaten or commit suicide. They are like the slow or old animal in the wild and will be culled out by the predators.
Your poll missed another option, ignore and go on about business. I would not push or shake hand, if I was walking by, I would say it is never as bad a s you think come on down, but that is all the time I would take on the matter.

There was an emergency air cushion below him. I'm sure the guy who pushed him knew it because the article states that the so-called jumper had caused traffic to back up for five hours. Instead of charging the guy who pushed him with attempted murder, he should be given a commendation for fixing a traffic problem.

Chen fell 26 feet (8 meters) onto a partially inflated emergency air cushion laid out by authorities and survived, suffering spine and elbow injuries,
You would think after 5 hours it would be full.
"I pushed him off because jumpers like Chen are very selfish."
Since the jumper was being selfish by slowing down this idiot, it's alright to help him over the edge ? Who is being selfish ?
Basically, some mental case passing by does not have the right to decide someone else's fate. I'll stand by my statement that he should be charged.
